Abaxx Commodity Exchange and Clearinghouse and TMX Trayport announced on February 8, 2026, that Abaxx Exchange will become accessible through TMX Trayport’s Joule trading platform. This development will enable traders to interact with Abaxx Exchange markets within the same environment they use for other energy and commodity trading activities.

The integration is scheduled to provide connectivity before the close of the first quarter of 2026. Through this arrangement, market participants can view Abaxx Exchange offerings alongside other energy and commodity products and place orders directly from their existing trading systems.

Trading firms will be able to align Abaxx Exchange benchmarks with current gas, power, and environmental contracts. This setup supports the deployment of hedging and trading strategies across multiple interconnected markets.

Abaxx Exchange’s product suite includes physically-deliverable LNG futures, which will expand the range of trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific gas prices available on the Joule platform. This addition allows for cross-basin hedging within a single interface.

What the numbers show

  • The integration was announced on February 8, 2026
  • Joule platform serves more than 9,800 traders globally
  • Connectivity is expected before the end of Q1 2026

Abaxx Exchange also offers weather-indexed derivatives that provide tools for managing European power price and generation risk. In addition, its environmental contracts, including CORSIA-eligible and REDD+ units, add more instruments for managing exposures related to climate factors.

According to the announcement, traders will be able to view Abaxx Exchange markets together with other energy and commodity markets and submit orders from within their current trading environment. This integration is intended to streamline access and facilitate broader trading opportunities.

Industry reaction

Peter Conroy, CEO Global Insights at TMX Group, said that Trayport continues to expand the variety of commodities available to its trading community and welcomed the ability for traders to view both OTC-cleared markets and Abaxx Exchange order books within the Joule platform.

Shanmei Lim, Chief Markets Officer at Abaxx Exchange, stated that connecting Abaxx Exchange to TMX Trayport’s Joule platform extends access to a global network of power and gas market participants and places Abaxx benchmarks directly into traders’ workflows.
