  • Data center sales made up $51.2 billion of that total
  • Company surpassed $5 trillion in market capitalization in early 2026

Nvidia’s recent financial results highlight its expanding presence in the technology sector, with substantial increases in both revenue and market share over several consecutive quarters.

During the third quarter of fiscal year 2025, Nvidia’s revenue reached $57.01 billion, with $51.2 billion attributed to data center sales. In the same period, diluted earnings per share were reported at $1.30. The company projected approximately $65 billion in revenue for the following quarter.

For the quarter ending January 26, 2025, which marked the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2024, Nvidia posted revenue of $39.3 billion, representing a 78% increase compared to the previous year. Net income for this period was recorded at $22.06 billion. Data center revenue during this quarter totaled $35.6 billion, with Blackwell chip sales contributing $11 billion.

In the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, Nvidia reported record revenue of $44.06 billion, which reflected a 69% year-over-year increase. Data center revenue in that quarter rose 73% to $39.1 billion. Adjusted earnings per share were 81 cents, which was affected by a $4.5 billion charge related to U.S. export restrictions on H20 chips to China.

What the numbers show

  • Q3 FY2025 revenue: $57.01 billion; data center: $51.2 billion
  • Q4 FY2024 revenue: $39.3 billion; net income: $22.06 billion
  • Q1 FY2026 revenue: $44.06 billion, up 69% year-over-year
  • Data center revenue Q1 FY2026: $39.1 billion, up 73%
  • Adjusted EPS Q1 FY2026: 81 cents after $4.5 billion charge

Nvidia forecasted a further $8 billion impact on revenue in the next quarter due to lost H20 chip sales, and provided guidance for approximately $45 billion in revenue for that period. These projections followed the company’s acknowledgment of the effects of export restrictions on its business with China.

As of early 2026, Nvidia had become the first company to exceed both $4 trillion and $5 trillion in market capitalization. This milestone reflected the company’s rapid financial growth and its position among the world’s most valuable publicly traded firms.

Market share data indicated that Nvidia held about 92% of the discrete desktop and laptop GPU market as of the first quarter of 2025. The company also controlled over 80% of the GPU market used for artificial intelligence model training and deployment.

Nvidia’s financial and market performance over these quarters demonstrated its central role in the data center and AI hardware sectors. The company’s continued revenue growth and market share gains were supported by strong demand for its products in these areas.
