Overview

lite.news produces original, factual reporting based on publicly available information and delivers it through structured news feeds designed for syndication, indexing, and downstream publication.

Access to lite.news feeds and the right to reuse content are governed by licence. Technical access to a feed does not, by itself, grant permission to republish or redistribute content.

Standard licence terms

Reuse of lite.news content is governed by our standard licence. This sets out what you can publish, where you can publish it, and the conditions that apply.

What a licence provides

A lite.news licence defines how licensed customers may use reporting delivered through our feeds. Depending on the tier selected, a licence may permit:

  • Access to full article content via structured feeds.
  • Reuse of content for publication on licensed properties.
  • Use of content within products, applications, or editorial workflows covered by the licence.
  • Ongoing access to recent content within defined rolling windows.

Specific rights, limits, and obligations depend on the licence tier and are set out in the applicable terms.

What is not included by default

Unless explicitly agreed in writing, lite.news licences do not permit:

  • Redistribution of feeds or content to third parties.
  • Publication across multiple unrelated domains, networks, or brands.
  • Resale or sublicensing of lite.news content.
  • Use of content outside the scope of the licensed delivery method.

Broader reuse, redistribution, or network-wide use requires a custom agreement.

Attribution

Where required by the applicable licence, reused lite.news content must include appropriate attribution.

Attribution requirements vary by licence tier and may include reference to lite.news as the source of the reporting. Exact attribution wording and placement are defined in the licence terms.

Formats and delivery

  • RSS — sample and licensed feeds
  • JSON — licensed feeds
  • NEWSML-G2 — available for custom delivery

Feed delivery, polling behaviour, and access windows may be subject to reasonable technical limits to protect service reliability.
