Blackstone Distributable Earnings Fall as Fee Income Rises

Blackstone’s third-quarter distributable earnings declined 9% from a year earlier to $1.72 billion, while fee-related earnings increased 6% to $1.57 billion. The company published its results on October 22, 2026, for the three months ending September 30.

Distributable earnings amounted to $1.32 per share, according to InvestmentNews, which described the figure as a cash-based measure Blackstone uses when setting its dividend. Fee-related earnings exclude gains from investment exits that occur less regularly, according to InvestmentNews. On a GAAP basis, Blackstone’s supplemental financial table showed net income attributable to the company of $662.4 million, compared with $624.9 million in the corresponding quarter of 2025.

The company’s supplemental figures put total net realizations at $331.5 million, a 34% reduction from the year-earlier figure of $504.8 million. Reuters described net realizations as investment-exit proceeds and attributed part of their decline to a reduction of nearly 50% in Blackstone’s private-equity business.

For the quarter, Blackstone recorded inflows exceeding $63 billion, taking assets under management to $1.37 trillion, according to Reuters. Separately, the global mergers and acquisitions activity measured by LSEG fell 41% from the preceding quarter, according to the data cited by Reuters.

Before the quarterly release, Blackstone had published a preliminary update covering two realization-related revenue categories. In its September 22, 2026, statement, the company put the anticipated combined amount for realized performance revenues and realized principal investment income above $350 million for the period beginning July 1 and ending September 22.

Blackstone said that estimate did not include realization activity occurring after September 22 within the quarter. The company also stated that the estimate was not a projection of results for the entire quarter and that those results could differ materially. The update concerned the two specified revenue categories rather than total third-quarter results.
