Stifel Reports Higher Q3 EPS as Wealth Revenue Rises
Stifel Financial reported third-quarter 2026 diluted earnings of $1.40 a share under U.S. GAAP, compared with $1.22 a year earlier, while net revenue edged down to $1.426 billion from $1.429 billion. The results cover the three months through September 30 and were published on October 21.
The company’s two reported segments recorded different year-over-year revenue results. According to Stifel’s presentation, Global Wealth Management generated $980.3 million, an 8% increase, while Institutional Group revenue declined 14% to $430.3 million. Within the institutional segment, transactional revenue fell 33% to $122 million.
Stifel identified the wealth segment’s quarterly revenue and asset-management revenue as records. The presentation also put the segment’s net interest income at $285 million, an increase of 11% from the corresponding quarter in 2025.
Client assets in Global Wealth Management stood at $576.5 billion on September 30, 2026, according to Stifel, exceeding the year-earlier balance by 6%. Fee-based assets reached $239.7 billion, up 9%. Those comparisons include prior-year balances associated with Stifel Independent Advisors of $10.2 billion in total assets and $4.8 billion in fee-based assets. That business was sold on February 2, 2026.
Bank lending also increased during the reporting period. Stifel said its loan balance rose by $1.3 billion over the quarter to finish September at $26.065 billion, putting it 21% above the year-earlier level.
On the company’s supplemental non-GAAP basis, diluted earnings per share reached $1.46, versus $1.30 in the third quarter of 2025, and net revenue totaled $1.429 billion. Stifel states that these measures supplement its U.S. GAAP reporting rather than replace it.
The investor-relations website lists an October 21 webcast for the quarterly results conference call. An earlier company notice scheduled the call for 9:30 a.m. Eastern time on that date.
According to the call transcript published by Stock Analysis, Chairman and CEO Ronald J. Kruszewski stated that Stifel’s fourth-quarter 2026 revenue expectation was to equal the record $1.56 billion recorded in the final quarter of 2025. He also stated that management’s outlook included earnings per share above that year-earlier quarter’s level. Both figures concern management’s fourth-quarter outlook, not completed results.
